Good afternoon from sunny Gibraltar.
Thought it would only be right to say hello.
I got back into modern board gaming (after a long hiatus) after finally getting round to playing Catan and being introduced to other titles like Ticket to Ride, Pandemic etc. Shortly after i found myself hooked on youtube channels watching and learning about new games from the Dice Tower and Tabletop. As a result i found my collection rapidly expand to bursting point and where i find my self of having more games to play than time to play em all.
After playing games on a regular basis again i found myself constantly thinking about ideas for games and little tweaks that i would do to existing games here and there and decided to try and design a game. It didn't take long to realise that i was out of my depth and finding it a bit overwhelming.
Whilst doing some online research i came across an online blog / game design course which had been run some years back and decided to follow the course with a friend. (https://gamedesignconcepts.wordpress.com/) This turned out to be the most helpful thing i could have done and it gave me a real insight into design and changed the way i was trying to go about it.
I'm currently actively working on two light weight games, one of which i have been working on over the course of the last 18months and i feel is very near to being shared for wider playtesting.
Gibraltar is very small (pop 30k) and not many people regularly play board games let alone prototypes. I am very much interested in offering my time as a playtester to others and hopefully find others to test my work and give feedback.
Look forward to working with you all
Nich
Thanks Adam
I am updating my working document with the results of the last few playtests and changes so i will hopefully create a game journal for it here very shortly. =)
