Sorry for the gratuitious Cheap Trick reference, but that's just where my head is at, apparently.
I'm Jess, from Portland, and thanks for welcoming me into this community. My interests run all over the place- I'm a novelist (published, not that guy at the coffee shop all the time), editor, critic, composer, visual artist, etc. I've been jonesing to create a game for a while... a good friend of mine is a eurogame fanatic, and he recently joined the ranks of 3D printer owners, so that seemed to spur it on.
I have two ideas that I've worked on. The first is a straight-up adventure board game based on a scifi/fantasy concept album I recorded. The second is an Apples 2 Apples variant- is there a term for that type of card game? Anyway, it's based on monsters and weirdos fighting in various arenas. I'm starting on laying that one out and working up a few varieties of mechanic to enhance the "pick a card" concept.
