Hi folks,
I'm a full-time professional video game designer of 23 years and I've recently (well, ~5 years) been getting more and more into board games such that I've decided to pull my finger out and make one of my own, or at least try in the moments I get some free time.
I've no particular favorite genre, but I do like a bit of subterfuge and sneakiness in my games :)
Looking forward to some great convos and idea sharing with the folks here!

You have found a great place to talk shop about creating / designing board and card games.
What has intrigued you to start working on board and card games?

Hey Stormy,
Video games take so long to make that designing and working on a small card or board game is very attractive to me. I also prefer the social side of card and board games. Some video games try and address the social angle, but they're generally much weaker in comparison to a good hobby game. I'm also hoping that designing a card or board game will give me a new perspective on design. In my day job I'm usually designing real-time action video games, so something that requires much closer attention to simpler, fewer but more tightly-honed rules appeals to me.
I also love the tactile nature of card / board games - shuffling / dealing cards, rolling dice etc. I have a 'thing' about decks of cards... ;)
