Hi, my name is Chris and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I got back into board games a few years back after passing by a local game store in town a while ago. I was amazed at how far board game design has come in the last 30 years. So much about the hobby is appealing to me, and it seems a lot of folks these days.
Thanks for letting me join your group. In the few short weeks I've been here, I've picked up a ton of great advice!
Like most gamers, I've started to design a game. I'm so hooked! It's about (what else) space exploration, and Terraforming a planet (so your race can survive). The theme is somewhat overdone, but I for one cant get enough of spaceships and smugglers.
I hope to start to bring to the forums some images and info on gameplay in the coming weeks. Please don't hold back criticism, while I am somewhat thin skinned I realize the reason for feedback is to make the game better so I'm fully prepared for it. I welcome any input on any of the game. I also realize being a 100% newbie/wannabie, I may be completely misguided on some ideas about how all the different processes (design, manufacturing, marketing, KS, etc..) work in conjunction together.
I also need a name for it. Theme is space exploration, flying and upgrading ships with 'droids', co-pilots, and other types of weapons. Discovering planet systems, resource gathering, and some combat. Feels like the video game Rebel Galaxy meets the movie Interstellar.
Thanks so much!
Again Great to be here!
Chris
PS- If anyone is in NYC, I'd love to find some play testers or even some regular gaming buddies.
Sure. I'll start working on getting it up on there. Thanks!
