Hi all,
I'm Pepe Hiller, a Swiss based Artist & Toy Designer. Tinkering at my workbench on new projects and planning new creations has been a labor of love for me since childhood. Even now, as an adult, I just love to experiment and bring what I see in my mind to life as a three-dimensional form. I did a four-year apprenticeship as an architectural model maker. While there, I learned about all kinds of different materials from cork to expanded polystyrene to chromium steel. I also learned a lot of techniques and production processes that really help me now as toy and game designer. I received my Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design/Scenographical Design from Zurich University of the Arts. Now I still work in Zurich, and I have my own wood workshop here to create my toys and designs.
I'm a long time lurker on this forums and i really wanted to join this community for quite a while but never had a complete game or game ideas to share. Well that has changed as i have dipped my toe into board game design for a few months now and i can't wait to share my latest prototypes and stuff with you. Looking forward to get some feedback on my ideas and share my expertise in prototyping with you.
cheers
Pepe

Thanks for the warmth welcome! :)
It surprises me that no one has responded yet.
Your art looks like dedicated work.
And your 3D board game pieces look good too.
How is that 3D printer doing for you? Is it expensive?
thanks, glad you like what u did see so far. our 3d printer is fine,
i "abused" the one we have at work as there i have a decent layer resolution
and support material to build complex designs (ABS-printer). in my dayjob
i work daily with 3d printed parts and yes it's pretty expensive. but i think 3d printing
is still in its infancy. it's a huge playground and there are so many players
and new systems pushing into the marked, so no idea how this technology
will develop but i will have my own cheap 3d printer at home as well soon
and can't wait to mess around with it. :)
Your toys are gorgeous, and I look forward to hearing what designs you've been up to these last few months (particularly involving the modular board you're working on).
thanks a bunch, the board tiles are fun but a bit flimsy. still working on these
but atm it looks like my current game won't need tiles as board. reminds me to
post the latest version of these, i made some wax prototypes to cast them in resin,
still flimsy but even more fun to play with... ;D will share them later on.
haha thanks, yeah i should def work on this. in fact i have a new small series
of new wood toys ready for sale but need to find some time to get all stuff sorted out first.
