I am a budding designer working on a number of designs at various levels of development (from light card games to medium-heavy Euros). I want to contribute to the community by providing my humble opinion on your projects and getting some feedback on mine. I would also love to network with other designers from the Montreal area.
Hi from Montreal
Yep I am, but I took a break lately, working on a video game project.
Questccg is also in montreal.
I know a couple of other designer (Tried to make a group many years ago). Do you speak french? I know a couple of other french designer. We tried making a podcast but we had to stop.
There is currently no "Designer" meeting or event that I know. Once a while, stack academy invite designers to show their game besides playing game.
Some of my friends were participating at the designer day at the randolph which I think happened once a month, but I am not sure they still attend to that event or if it still takes places. I attended a couple of time.
Right now I am not playing much, but I was mostly playing at concordia university and stack academy. There is 1 or 2 designer that I know that shows up at concordia once a while. People are mostly playing regular games, it could be hard to convince them playing prototypes.
If you need more info just ask.
Sushi AND Ravioli!
Anyway, I digress...
Welcome to the forum, and larienna beat me to the punch regarding questccg...or Kris, who has produced one absolutely beautiful card game several years ago and is currently working on a second game, entitled Tradewars: Homeworld, for which I've been asked to serve as his Developer.
Certainly check out the site...make introductions, and have fun...it's all about board gaming!
Cheers,
Joe
Not sure if it's a coincidence or if it's the same user, there is a BGG thread about designer request in montreal too:
