Howdy Folks,
My name is Mark Jindra. I have been working around the hobby gaming industry for over 20 years. I started out like most people playing games like Risk or Monopoly but when I was older I discovered the world of designer board games. One of my favorites was Supremacy and I spent many an hour at local gaming conventions attempting to beat my foes into submission while avoiding the inevitable nuclear war.
I worked for many years as a convention coordinator at conventions like AndCon, Winter Fantasy, Origins, and Gen Con and even ran my own Play-By-Mail gaming company before taking a job at Wizards of the Coast as a Web Developer where my role was that of the official Dungeon's & Dragon's web developer although I worked on other sites such as RoboRally, Hecatomb, D20 Modern, Magic and more.
During the 3rd edition years of D&D I wrote close to a hundred articles for the website focusing on Psionics (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/psi) and even contributed several adventures. I also wrote a series of articles about various classic dice games and way to bring them into your D&D campaign. (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/dg)
A few years ago I made a decision to pursue web development opportunities outside of the hobby gaming industry and have been doing so ever since.
However now I find myself itching to return to the hobby gaming industry. Though this time as a game designer and possibly as a podcaster. I have about twenty game designs in various stages of completion and I am close to having a few of them ready for play-testing.
I have been a lurker here for far too long and feel like it is time to step up my game (pun intended).
Good luck and good gaming all!
