Hello from Australia :D A little bit about myself first: My name is Tom. I used to be a programmer for quite a few years as I'm from computer science major. During recent years of working for higher education and getting introduced to tons of boardgames, my idea of creating a fun educational boardgame became stronger and stronger. And about a year ago, I decided to give it a go.
About the game I'm working on: I'm currently trying to design a strategic game (not quite 4x because of no extermination) featuring a lot of basic concepts in chemistry. Each player will act as a government of a country with the tasks of managing resources (money and research), hiring some of the greatest chemists in history, and make some of the most important research breakthroughs in chemistry. And of course, you can make your opponents suffer by declaring war on them! There is no unit for you to exterminate like I said earlier though.
I found BGDF about half a year ago and have learned a lot from all sorts of discussions even as an anonymous user. After joining it and posting my first question about resource management, I've already got some great ideas from questccg and radioactivemouse. So thank you BGDF! Hope I can make some contributions to this fantastic community in return :)
Anyway, have a good day everyone and let's design some games!
