Hey guys, I'm new in town. I'm a banker from southern Oklahoma out looking for new and fun ideas to fill the void left by aging out into adulthood. My brother-in-law and I have started to design a couple of games and are looking for insight, advice and inspiration so that we can make these games the best that they can be. I am really looking forward to our first game design and will gladly consider any feedback and/or constructive criticisms you may have. We have already begun play-testing and are changing dynamics, mechanics, structure and rules as we find combinations that work (and don’t work).

We are new to this but are excited to share and learn!

Sounds like steps in the right direction!

I too view "design" as a hobby - but like most, if not all designer, I hope to produce a few lasting designs. I'm not in it for the money - but for the experience and being able to put together some *tight* mechanics that make for a lean & mean board game machine! :P

Welcome to BGDF! And as a Banker, you will of course advance us numerous amounts of cash so that we can blow millions of dollars to make - well a couple games! LOL "Rockstar Games" oops that name is already taken! How much for a Jet Plane? No worries... Our BGDF games SELL!!! You get it! ;)

Cheers! LMAO

Welcome!

Hi Bacon,

I'm new here as well. Like you, I am new to game design.

I would really like to know how your first playtests went. I have done my first playtests as a game designer and I am finding it quite challenging. It is easy for my to spot "broken" mechanics quickly, but gauging how fun or strategic a game is can be much harder I think. Anyway, I would love to know what you are working on and how that is going.

Welcome, I'm glad to have another newbie around. Just like that, I am not the youngest. :)

James
