Well I took the plunge and decided to hire a writer to write the storyline behind the game. I had made an attempt - but I decided that the storyline was not what I really wanted. I wanted more political intrigue and socio-economic sabotage... A more mature content for an older crowd.
The intention was to add a storyline that could be enjoyed by a mature game crowd such as 18+ years of age. Something with some true depth (I'm not good enough of a Science Fiction writer).
Our creative writer is a Science Teacher with a degree in History. She has written articles about the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. She actively enjoys both reading and writing fiction. I have asked her to think up three or four "broad" storylines. I will choose the one I think is best for the card game.
For certain with her mature style of writing, she can come up with good content to help engage gamers even deeper into the game!
I will keep you all updated as to the progress of our game's storyline... And in all truth, I am VERY excited about these events! Can't wait to see what she cooks up for our game...

Evolution of a storyline
Well my writer has proposed seven (7) different storylines. I have not yet determined which is better but I have instead broken down the storyline into nine (9) different "shorter" storylines.
What will be the content of these storylines is yet to be determined. But I do have seven possible storylines to "play with" and see which ones can fit into the nine (9) storylines.
If you are wondering how I get nine??? It's the number of resources used by the game itself. To recap the resources will be:
Those are the nine (9) storylines and the number of cards used for each "shorter" story! Again this is a proposal, we'll see what my writer thinks about this idea...!
Cheers.
an "Isotopes" story should prove interesting...
Stable ones are okay...but, my Quick Silver is on the Radioactive ones!
Hahaha...
I did not intend to have the storylines about the cards themselves. Like "Medicine" cards (5 cards in total) don't have to be about medicine or something similar (okay I am thinking about Genetic Engineering - based on Nerida's input) - however they could.
Isotopes are supposed to be a Covenant storyline. So far what we have is that the Covenant are a closed society that has mastered genetic engineering. As such they engineer their members to have superior genes. They are a very secretive and seeking Power/Dominance from the other Megacorporations.
We'll see how all of this ties together - but I am very positive that Nerida will write one hell of a storyline!
