Standard Game Box sizes

Hi Guys

I was wondering if there was a list of standard sizes for game boxes (telescope ones) - as I imagine it is cheaper to use stock that has already been made than having to have a new box die-cut.

So, I'd be grateful if anyone could steer me in the right direction for a list of typical game box dimensions (width, height and depth). Anyone know where I can find this info?

Also, my guess is that there is a perceived trade off between the 'size of the box' and the Retail Price. Are there certain box sizes that are typically associated with a particular price point?

Bob,

Will you be self publishing?

If not, check out this thread:

Heck read it anyway, it's good stuff.

Standard Game Box sizes

Thanks Darke.

I am considering the self publishing route and am trying to figure out which box size = which price point.

My game's closest comparable is probably something like the 'How to Host a Murder Party' series, so I'm thinking the same price point (cUS$29.99).

Having a box about the same size will give the impression that my game is of equivalent value, but I'm tossing up whether or not to go with a slightly smaller standard size (if there is a 'standard' size) as retailers might be more prepared to take on additional units if the packaging isn't so large! And I guesst that's the meat of my quandry at this stage!

Larger box = higher perceived value but lower units held by retailer (at least its been proved in the market).

But thanks for the link.

Cheers .... TwoBob
