Damn I lost my post. Here is the short version

I missed your post. Lot of stress and anxiety right now, I have other things to think about.

Want strategic game, player choice important.

Trail does not give interesting choice.

Added some choices during encounter, but limited. Need to add choice in city defense planning.

Campaing mode is short term (current game) vs long term (next game) decision.

Can import various mechanics from war game to increase strategy: Action cards, combat, geography, resource management, movement, etc. Think of heroes as super units.

Can also import from dungeon crawler.

There will be increasing tension to avoid repetivity. I will adjust it according to player progress.

Yeah our server's OS was being upgraded from 7.0 to 8.0 CentOS on July 16 at 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM (4-Hour migration). Sorry I did not post about it because we normally don't get many "Night-Owls" on BGDF.com (aside from myself).

Sorry to hear... I know a thing about stress and anxiety so I feel for you... Hope things resume the normal and that your stress levels go down soon enough.

Yeah that all sounds good but generic... We'll discuss further as your stress levels go down when you feel more at ease.

Cheers and stay healthy @larienna!

I am not sure it will go down

I am not sure it will go down this year. Lot of problems to handle, uncertainty of the future. The heat and lack of sleep does not help too. Ironically, I work in a psychiatric hospital, so I know a lot about mental health.

I am just struggling to find a computer monitor that does not hurt my eyes. They all seem to do so. This is why my new computer installation is on hold. Aiming for some BenQ Eye care monitor, not sure if it will really work.

So far, programming and game designs are all on hold, they could remain this way for almost a year. It's complicated, because programming, even something useless, could help reducing stress and anxiety, but I have so little time (strangely) that I rather complete other useful task that could be more helpful.

At that moment, I am plastifying the 1846 board game I bought to play with my father, and I am designing a solitaire mode for 1846. It's the only design I have done recently. Even buying 1846 brought a huge amount of anxiety since it cost 90$ and I could play online.

I needed to do some renovations at home but the heat prevent me from doing so. I need to sell my video game son Ebay, I have my picture, but something make it stall. I never done this either, so I am probably procrastinating a bit.

In theory, I should be aiming for another job, but I know that could bring another amount of stress. I am strategy not very enthusiast about it.

So this is what is currently going on in my life right. I am stuck in a loop hole with little solutions. Many of which would require a lot of courage and give me even more stress and anxiety.

I would hope I could just solve this the "Dune" way:

"I will face my fear and I will permit it to pass over me and through me."

We will see.
