Wow

Wow, those are definitely the best prototyping cards I have ever seen! Can I ask where you got the art? Or, did you do it yourself? I wish there was a filter in Photoshop to medievalize my original art.

Thanks for sharing these with us!

Sources

I found them doing a google image search, and I can't quite remember where they all came from. Curufea on here gave me a link to a hold load of medieval style images, some of which I've used on other cards in the game, so well worth a look.

Nice!

Those are stunning. Nice work!

These are gorgeous pictures!

These are gorgeous pictures! And they work perfectly with your map.

If I may, I would recommend adding some iconography to represent the various actions, as the text tends to get lost against the "same-y" mottled background.

Iconography

Thanks.

Well my primary goal was to get the cards produced before the weekend so I can do a bit of play testing when my friend comes over. Iconography is a great idea, though I'll have to think about it for a while. I can see the icons for gaining gold being very simple, but influence maybe a bitter harder to iconify. I'll probably be using coloured cubes as influence markers, so maybe just cube based iconography for influence actions would work.

Anyway, once it's been playtested a bit and the cards are closer to their final form then I'll worry about iconography and probably improving the text. It strikes me at the moment that the first two lines of text are kind of a waste. Maybe I can just seperate the bottom portion of the card into two area, Actions and Effects, then anything in the actions area is played as an Action and can only be done once in the round, while the current note text would sit in the Effects area.

As I said, I'll have to think further on this. My first goal is to get the initial play tests done, then I'll update the rules and cards as required before trying to lure some members here to try it out for me so I can get some decent feedback.
