Variant: Eliminate the green die and have the row be the timer.
As a variation could you remove the green die from the game and instead have the player remove a dice from the hand or row? Feel free to disregard use or improve upon. Good luck with your game.

Yep, that is one variant on my list. In fact, that was the original penalty for "end of turn" (removing one from hand). The penalty is pretty harsh and the game ends very quickly once you were down to 3/4 dice.
However, that was before the rerolling mechanic was added, so definitely something I will playtest again this weekend.
