Hello Everyone!

Jacob here.

I've been hard at work designing my game, "The Shadow Of The Nokizaru".

In fact, I've recently ordered several prototypes from my manufacturer and they are due to come in soon. I was reaching out to some board game previewers, and I found one who I would have really liked working with.

His website is here: https://timchuon.com

However, even though I am planning on hiring artists post-kickstarter, he is unwilling to feature my game because the presentation prototype contains AI art.

My question is as follows. Does anyone know of any other board game previewers that make previews at this production quality?

Thanks in advance!

- Jacob

Hmm... You may like the guy but...

He isn't doing you any favors by not publishing a preview EVEN WITH AI Art. Meaning the guy is being a total jerk and you're being lied to. I haven't heard of any previewers who don't do previews of games just because the art is AI. That's ridiculous. The whole point of a preview is to get a PROTOTYPE version and show off what you have. Of course you can say some art will be re-done due to the fact that it was designed using AI Art... But don't be fooled, it's a great disservice this "guy" is doing by not previewing the game so that you can have the Kickstarter and pay for future art.

And between you and I... Your AI Art (most of it, from what I have seen) is pretty decent and looks good. I would only add a few pieces here-and-there and feature both AI Art and Artist Illustrations. I personally think that what you have is VERY good and better than what MOST have.

Trying to make things more LEGIT is to be commended not discouraged (like I feel your previewer is doing).

If I was you ... I'd find someone else who will do the preview with the existing art.

PM me if you want, I can refer you to someone who will charge from $200 to $300 USD. They have done previews for me before and are very professional. They even made me an Edison Award Video since I don't have any of this equipment myself. I've had three (3) Videos all previews done by them...

Let me know. Don't be nice to a jerk who is refusing to HELP you.

Best.

Also they are a two-person team (Brothers)

One does the actual filming and the other does the narration and demonstration. The one doing the filming is also a "Game Designer" and the one that does narration is also very fluent in Board Gaming. They do REVIEWS for FREE but you need to provide 3 copies of a game and it needs to be on-the-market (for sale) so-to-speak.

They also own and run a local Game Store too. So they are very in-tune with the Board Game Community and since they are local, I can go visit them and have a chat every now and then.

Like I said the price of videos fluctuates between $200 and $300 USD. I think I paid $200 USD for my first video, $300 for my Dual Dice preview and $250 USD for the Edison Award Video.

As I said, find people that will HELP you and not hinder you. Same goes with Artists and Illustrators. I know you need to pay for the art ... But see if you can mix-and-match AI Art with Artist Illustrations. Or have some components like standies done by an artist and the hex tiles done by AI... etc. etc.

Your not taking away anyone's job by using AI Generated Art. It's affordable and you can pretty much do what YOU LIKE. Working with an Artist can sometimes have mixed results. So find someone that does art similar to what you already have (that's my opinion).

Cheers!
