Hello all, I made a post a while ago about possible board ideas. Please check it out. I have a new idea.
A world map with a "bridge" path of squares that players pass through (like Monopoly but with an end point, most probably) between continents forming a path all the way from the Mariana Trench in Oceania, to Africa, to South America, to North America, to Europe, to Mount Everest Asia.
Between every continent is a checkpoint where a player must answer a certain amount of questions correctly to pass on to the next continent. Players must answer questions pertaining to the continent they are on. Players on a bridge must use a spinner to dictate what category of questions they will answer. Some squares on the bridges dictate which category of question the player must answer, in which case the spinner is not used. On the bridges there are also squares labelled "fun", which entail moves solely for entertainment and drama. Gameplay is regulated by a timer which varies based on the difficulty of the question.
What do you think? Thanks.
Hmmm...
The squares that are not part of the bridges will require players to answer questions corresponding to that continent, as well as have related "fun" squares like "Oh no! You're stuck in a traffic jam around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. Do xyz to get out." if one is in Europe, and so on.
I think that the "-tainment" in "edutainment" is a bit easier considering that this game is geared towards children.
I'll think of another name for those squares, haha ;)
Do you have any other advice for how to set up a game like this one? Any tips? I highly appreciate your help so far. Thanks! :D
