Way off topic

A bill right now is being rushed in US congress to ban organic farming and even down to the individual gardener. Scary evil stuff. e-mail your senator. I have a garden I grow food. If you ever need to live off your own food, which is extremely likely in the near turm, take as much action as you can and resurch.

That seems odd and

That seems odd and unlikely.

Congress seems to be mid-movement toward "green" anything (and organic farming/gardening is quite green) ... Any links and/or bill reference numbers you could provide would be helpful.

There's been a lot of scaremongering on the blogs about this bill (hr 875) but I have yet to see any serious or thoughtful attention paid to it. It's in committee right now.

Nothing of the sort

You shouldn't believe all the crazy emails you might receive.

Here is a clear and interesting article on the topic, telling fact from myth. You don't need to worry about your garden, as long as your concern is food.

Brilliant!

We can use that in a game: Scaremongering and Blamestorming, I am sure we could come up with some more clever words!

Big Government is scary

FACT: take as much action as you can and resurch.

MYTH: A bill right now is being rushed in US congress to ban organic farming and even down to the individual gardener.

FACT: There's been a lot of scaremongering on the blogs about this bill (hr 875) but I have yet to see any serious or thoughtful attention paid to it. It's in committee right now.

MYTH: You don't need to worry about your garden, as long as your concern is food.

FACT: We as citizens need to take more responsibility in our local, state and federal communities.

If and when we need government intervention it should be very specific and not open to interpretation.

A fellow once told me about how to catch wild pigs in Indonesia:
Go out into the woods and drop a bunch of feed. Pigs come, eat, and leave. Continue to do this for a while until the Pigs are comfortable getting food there. Build a line of fence next to where you drop the feed. Pigs will come, be wary of the fence, eat and leave. Once the Pigs are comfortable with one fence add a second side (creating an L shape but still open for Pigs to leave). Pigs will come, eat, get comfortable with two sides of fence and leave. Wait a while then build third side of fence. Continue to feed pigs until they are comfortable being closed in on 3 sides. Build fourth side of fence with a gate which remains open. Pigs will enter, eat, leave and get comfortable. After a few days close the gate and the pigs are yours!

What current government Taavet? Which one?

I don't like politics what so ever but it's interesting that we now have the second Christ. I meant that in all sarcasm. That troubles me. That family gets way too much hype for not......they got too much hype before he was elected. I like the guy but he's not running the show. Nothing has changed. He's singing the same old song as oposed to what he said he would do. It seems not much has changed about US policy for the last 40 or more years. What troubles me is, even though the man has excelent leadership, he is liked too much. He gets too much hype.

I want to reiterate that I hate politics.
