All players start in Zarahemla.
The number of players determines the number of Advancing Lamanite Armies that will be included in game play (2 players = 2 Advancing Lamanite Armies; 3 players = 3 Advancing Lamanite Armies; 4 players = 4 Advancing Lamanite Armies). The city cards are used to randomly place the Advancing Lamanite Armies.
Each player receives 6 Nephite cards to start the game.
Roll the 4-sided die to see who plays first (play continues in a clock-wise fashion).
On your turn roll the 4-sided die and the Lamanite Action die. The result of the Lamanite Action die is completed first. Then you decide which of the following actions you will take (you may only choose 1 per turn):
1. Play a Nephite Card
2. Draw a Nephite Card
3. Move
4. Fortify
5. Discard 1 By Orders of Moroni Card
