Make learning fun
Have you ever noticed that kids have big mood swings after playing on their computer games and no mood swings from board games. We put this down to good old fashioned interaction that happens during game play. Making happier kids as a result.
We’d like our kid to be more sociable rather than playing alone. Walled-In® is one way you could achieve this and they are learning at the same time.
Rules:
All players use the red tiles to create walls.
leaving unclaimed areas (sacrifice) If players do not see the sacrifice then the player can get away with it; unless challenged by another player before the next player has placed their tile down into the game board.
2 player game (red tiles only)
– Choose a dot colour on the red tiles and decide who goes first.
– Players take turns placing single red tile horizontally or vertically between two adjacent posts in to the game board.
– The player who completes the fourth side of a box earns one point (marked by placing their chosen dot colour on top of the boxed area created) and takes another turn.
– The game ends when no more tiles can be placed.
The winner of the game is the player with the most points.
3/4 player game
The rules of the game are the same as above but player 3 and 4 use black tiles with their chosen dot colour to claim their areas.
Game expansion
You can earn extra points for completing a boxed area with a white tile in the centre by swopping it with your chosen tile/dot colour and keeping the white tile which adds points to your score at the end of the game.
White tile values depend on how many you place on the board:
1 = 4 points each
2 = 3 points each
3 = 2 points each
4 = 1 point each
Points are counted up at the end of the game by adding the value placed on the tile to your score.
