Tradewars - Homeworld: Mega Marathon

Well I just completed what to me SEEMS like a "Mega Marathon"! I just edited about twenty nine (29) cards for the PRE-Release version of "Tradewars - Homeworld". I added all the NEW artwork from the last batch that have been finalized and created all the The Game Crafter (TGC) cards with the correct bleed. It's quite the process:

  1. First I need to scale the original artwork to 2.5" in width and make sure there is more than 2.0" in height allowance.
  2. I then need to apply a mask region to the image so that it fits correctly on the card.

Wizardry TCG

There are a few ideas/concepts that I would like to explore in Table Top Gaming. These include:

1. Polyhedral dice = Yes a lot of RPGs use these dice - but I don't know of many Table Top/Board Games that make use of standard poly dice.

2. Filler-Type game = Yes I have worked with Hamish on the "Mech" game, but we're not sure about publication let alone have a completed prototype.

Elemental: Schools of Magic = Polyhedral dice

Well it's been a WHILE since I have blogged about "Elemental: Schools of Magic" (Elemental). I guess not much has been happening with the game. Until today. :)

I have been "feeling" the URGE to use POLYHEDRAL dice in a project of mine.

And I had been considered the GO "pawns" to be used in Elemental. But I thought, what if instead we could use POLYHEDRAL dice???

So we have FIVE (5) Magicians and works well with the different POLYHEDRAL dice as follows:

  • Illusionist = d4
  • Enchanter = d6
  • Conjurer = d8
  • Sorcerer = d10

Mechwarrior - Pocket Arcade

Since Hamish posted that he has been feeling "restless" about Pocket Sports, I too have been feeling an "itch" also. So I have been thinking about a Pocket Edition game and have come up with the idea of a "Mechwarrior" Pocket Arcade concept. Let me introduce the concept and some of my thoughts.

Tradewars - Homeworld: What comes next

Well it's official NOW, as of today, that we will be investing more money in producing MORE artwork for our game "Tradewars - Homeworld". In the next four (4) months, we have commissioned the production of artwork for a "Lite" Edition of the game.

The "Lite" Edition will feature less cards, less scenarios and much less artwork. But by the miracle of the Internet the COST to gamers of our game will drop from $29.99 to UNDER $20.00!!!

Don't forget you will be getting the game with a little less and paying an AMAZING price tag for the "Lite" Edition.

Tradewars - Homeworld: First game preview

Here is a "brief" article about "Tradewars - Homeworld". It's apparently true that our game DOES have a lot of depth... Surprisingly more than expected!

Thank you to Robert C. Kalajian Jr., one of the Purple Pawn Editors, for taking the time to "preview" our game...

And if you haven't seen our preview video from BoardToDeath TV, here is the YouTube link:

Thanks for taking a look or read... We hope more reviewers will chime in with more articles concerning our game.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Inside the Game

We are now explaining to "the world" (via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tradewarshomeworld/) the various in-game locations related to the "deck-building" aspect of our game.

For those curious about the "Tradewars - Homeworld" or if you just want to see some more "eye-candy" artwork, please feel free to consult our FB page.

We are taking a "cue" from Joe (Joseph E. Pilkus III) our Developer. It was his idea to reveal more about the internals of the game - so that people can know more about what to expect from our game.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Facebook Contest

Well so far we have 197 LIKES for our product page. That means that potentially we have 197 contestants interested in our Facebook Contest.

That may or may not be 100% accurate...

https://www.facebook.com/tradewarshomeworld/

Just as an FYI, if any designers are interested in the Facebook Contest, feel free to LIKE our product page - and when I get to your entry, I will send you a FRIENDS invite so I can SHARE with your the information about the contest.

Monster Keep: Baiting the game!

As I mentioned in the other Blog entry, I have *sort of* playtested the game. And I immediately had an idea once I did that playtest:

  • A POT to collect all tokens!

Since each player has 12 cards, 1 card never gets used (during a game). But I have found a USE for this card. At the beginning of each round, each player choose the bottom card and reveals it.

That's the amount of point that determines who wins the POT! The player(s) with the LOWEST level (can have multiple winners) each earn points from the POT.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Roles (revisited)

During some of the playtests, I received some feedback that "veteran" players seemed "at odds" with the sequential turn order. Some felt that it gave some players an advantage to go first. And I thought it gave players who go LAST even more of an advantage...
