Quest AC2: Ideas all in a jumble

I have been thinking about "Quest Adventure Cards(tm), Version 2.0" (Quest AC2). More specifically what it is that I am trying to design for the game.

Originally I was going the style of AD&D and more traditional Fantasy content. But I got to thinking and saying that RPGs for that genre are pretty tapped out. There is so much Fantasy content that corresponds to AD&D content - I'm thinking I may just want to stay away from it.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Technical difficulties (no more!)

Well unfortunately the "The Game Crafter" (TGC) Crowd Sale is DOWN. This is because of an URGENT Change Request that required that we "restart" our Crowd Sale... No worries I am fully confident that we will get the copies to the people who want copies of the game.

  1. Most of the sales are pre-orders, complimentary copies and Family & Friends.
  2. Three (3) sales are from Designer friends on BGDF - I will contact you once the sale is back online.
  3. One (1) sale is from an anonymous buyer. I will contact him directly

Tradewars - Homeworld: Tuesday Game Night

Well I am writing this post-mortem after yesterday's Tuesday Game Night at a local FLGS. The evening started out a bit slow - but I took the time to setup the cards and prepare the upgrade piles for play. And with that we had a gamer or two who were intrigued by the layout itself.

That's one thing about the game - the LAYOUT.

Quest Adventure Cards v2.0: Types of cards

As I mentioned in the EPIC thread, I plan to use dual-sided cards for this game. I know they are a bit *cumbersome* but for what I plan to accomplish, the card count would be just too great.

I wanted to discuss the "Types of cards" that will be present in the game.

Here is the short list:

  • Heroes/Monsters: These dual-sided cards speak for themselves.
  • Bastions-Badlands/Lairs: Various location for your epic journey.
  • Events: These cards are also dual-sided but instead of "Good/Bad", they are "Encounter"/"Reward".

Tradewars - Homeworld: For SALE!!!

Well there is only a couple of days left before the LAUNCH of our Crowd Sale on "The Game Crafter" (TGC).

If you'd like to download our rulebook and have a read, the download is of course FREE. We have explicitly set it so that it may be viewed anonymously and downloaded at no cost.

Our TGC sale will start on Monday 18 July and proceed until Monday 15 August. Yes it is a long duration, we are hoping to do some more "guerrilla marketing" during the campaign and see if we can generate more interest.

Quest Adventure Cards(tm): Version 2.0 will be EPIC!

Well this night around 2:00 AM in the morning - I got some amazing ideas about how "Quest Adventure Cards(tm)" (Quest) could become an EPIC story-telling game.

Although the game is only in an embryonic stage, the truth of the matter is that it is SHAPING up to being EPIC!!! I did not think that the game had any type of future... But it looks like it may.

Tradewars - Homeworld: Artwork is DONE!

Well the good news is that our Artist completed the LAST illustration which was the Box Bottom. It was finished today - and I am rather pleased with his futuristic rendition of a "Homeworld".

Unlike our own solar system/Galaxy where we believe that life is probable elsewhere - but we cannot locate planets that have the elements required by life (as we know it), the Terrans come from a Galaxy where there are various planets suitable for life...

Each one of those "Homeworlds" are a base of exploration for the "Exterras".

Tradewars - Homeworld: The PROOFING begins

Well today I received two (2) Game Sets which I will be using for multiple purposes:

A> I will proof all the cards for errors.
B> I will use these sets to play the game at a FLGS.

I am amazed how nice the "rulebook" turned out. I was very worried that the writing would be too small. But the thing that saves it is that it is Black on White. So there is very HIGH contrast even thought the writing is kind of "small-ish".

Tradewars - Homeworld: Father Geek Approved!

If anyone is interested in taking a read at Mr. Cirus Kirby's review (Aka Father Geek) of our game ("Tradewars - Homeworld").

Here is the link:

http://fathergeek.com/tradewars-homeworld/

I will of course be updating "The Game Crafter" (TGC) website with the Accolade to help buyers feel more secure with their purchase: "They are buying a really good game..."

Lot's of positive feedback from all groups - and smart lessons learned about just how rewarding playing the game can actually be.

Cheers everyone!

Tradewars - Homeworld: Making games is costly

Here is a screen capture of my latest "The Game Crafter" (TGC) Order. A whooping $93.67 for two (2) Game Sets AT COST.

I have other plans for SELLING this game - because TGC is so pricey. I will of course maintain the game for sale via TGC (for online purchases) but I will be looking for other avenues to try and lower the cost to produce and resell the game.

Just wanted to show how pricey it can be!
