Give your posts descriptive titles (please!)

We've had a fair number of posts lately with vague and nondescriptive titles like "A new idea I had" or "Help with my design". With the thousands of posts we have in the archives, these monikers will ensure that these posts will fade into useless oblivion very quickly. Please, try to give your post a title that gives some indication what it's about: "An idea for a tile-based set collection game" or "Please help with balancing a bidding system". Giving your posts good titles will help generate interest in your posts, and will make them more useful to the other site members.

couldnt agree more

Its hard for a newbie to know where and how to post.

I would like to have sublevels under each category.

Gamedesign is a huge subject, there are questions that keep coming back, these should have a category of there own under gamesdesign.

It could be headlines such as, Kingmaking, run way leader problems, balancing issues, Regarding gamelenght, you get the point!

At the moment its a mess, and im probably a part of it)

I fully agree with Jeff. It's not THAT hard to think of a good title.

Make it a summary or explain the purpose of the post.

Good point jeff, not to mention the fact that the process of coming up with a good title will be an excellent marketing exercise! :^D

For the time being, you could consider the title of your post to be the sublevel category ;)

I.e. if you want your post to be useful and findable, use a descriptive name - no matter how subdivided the forums are!
