Help me gather links about game design

Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago, I applied to start4all.com to become a webmaster of links pertaining to board and card game design. Well, I was accepted. So now I have this web portal that will be open to everyone interested in board and card game design (once it has 70 or more related links!), with only a couple of links in there and a few subjects that need filling out with related links.

What I'm asking for is help, gathering up a database of links and placing them into their respective sub-topic.

My aim is to make this portal a haven for all interested in board and card game design (something I can't do by myself, hence this plea for help).

If anyone can provide me, either by posting in this thread or by PM with links, subjects, sub-topics related to board and card game design, then I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone here is interested in becoming a joint webmaster of the portal, then please PM me, and we'll discuss the details necessary.

Just curious, but why reinvent the wheel. That's exactly what BGDF already is. It might not be that neatly organized now, but it will be soon when we put the wiki online (probably sometime in August).

I concur, that BGDF is already a haven for designers of board games. My "goal" is not to compete with BGDF when the wiki does come online but to provide another source for information in url (website link) form only.

Once http://boardandcardgamedesign.start4all.com/ has over 70 links and was then able to be published on the actual homepage of start4all.com, I was hoping with your permission to place a banner ad for BGDF, on the top of the page. I'd like to see this site grow, as much as everyone else here would.

The BGDF to me is, and always will be the definitive place to be for designers and the like to hang out.

I hope that clarifies my intentions with this new web portal a little more clearly.

The page you are trying to build up could be hosted here instead. It would be great to have someone officially in charge of the links (gathering them, posting them and making sure they are up to date)

We already have the database system and a bunch of links.

Click the "Web Resources" link at left, in the menu bar. There are 101 links there right now.

I agree that it could be hosted here instead, and "if" Darkehorse was wanting someone to help and maintain the links site here, then I would gladly volunteer.

But, until it is hosted here on the new wiki that's being worked on, I think it's still a good idea to have the portal I'm working on, there, ready, for all budding board & card designers to have one web page, with most (if not all) possible links directing them to the best places to be available to them.

Thanks, FL. I had already taken the links I needed from there a few days ago.

I haven't had much chance to update http://boardandcardgamedesign.start4all.com/, since I was accepted to maintain the site. It is now though, slowly being put together. I'm hoping to have the site holding more 70 links within the next few days, so it can qualify to be published on Start4all's homepage.

If anyone knows of more links I could use, then please feel free to post them.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I don't follow the need for the page you're creating. There's one here with 101 links, and you can submit additional links any time -- they're usually approved within a couple of hours, tops.

Others that will be in the Wiki -- and I'm sure this will put you way over your required 70 -- can be found at http://www.spotlightongames.com

Click "More Features" in the left column, then click "Game Invention Resources." Tons of links.

Is Start4All popular or something? Is it something that people use? I'd never heard of it before your post, so am curious if it's popular outside the US or something.
