Asheville, NC or Washington, DC group?
I live in northern Virginia (until August anyway) and work in DC. While I sadly don't have a group, I do have a good friend that I try to game with regularly at his place. Also, there are some other - more organized - groups around that I can point you in the direction of if you're looking for something like that. We'd definitely be open to more than just 2 players for all our games! =)

Hey Sonya,
I just Google mapped Cabin John MD and it is about 30 minutes (without crazy traffic, which there almost always is) from where we game in Centreville, VA (495 south to either 66, 29 or 50 West). We both have busy weekends, so we try to meet up during the week - typically Tuesday, but occasionally on Wed if that's how our schedules work. Also, we're pretty flexible about where we game, so if you were interested, maybe a closer place could be found (like a coffee shop or something in DC/VA/MD)
As for other groups, try searching BGG for DC Gamers (http://www.washingtongamers.org/). The site's not updated much it seems, but they have some active threads on BGG. Apparently they meet though at one of two Game Parlor sites (http://www.gameparlor.com/Store/store.html) - one in Chantilly, VA and one in Woodbridge, VA. Looking at the site they have lots of capacity for gaming and I think they meet there on Tuesdays and every other Saturday or something... explore the sites!
