Hi,
I am currently manufacturing a game and one of my specially designed components needs to be custom-made. I am thinking of either doing it in plastic (injection moulding) or perhaps wood-- it's really dependant on the prices quoted.
I've found lots of potential manufacturers via the various search engines, but was wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable company that they have "tried and tested" before.
I am looking at a production run of around 1000-2000 pcs and am hoping to find a production facility in Asia (due to the lower cost and close proximity to me), though I am open to other places as long as the manufacturing costs are low enough!
Thanks in advance!

From what I hear about getting stuff done in Asia is that it's not worth it unless you are shipping at least 3000-5000 games (a whole crate load) so manufacturing close to home may be a better choice. As for material I think wood might be the thing to go with as the set up cost is much less than plastics and 1000-2000 may not be a big enough run for the material cost of wood to out weigh the set up cost of plastic. also lots of gamers like wood better
Edit: Dho! You are close to Asia in that case it will probably be the place for you to find cheap manufacturing. I also here tooling cost are much less in Asia so plastic may be a good choice. Sorry for not being much help
