I had to run into a local Dollar Tree which is a chain of "everything for a buck" stores we have here in Florida. I assume they are other places. Anyway, I was walking the aisles looking for something and happened to see these little bags of shiny things . pink shiny things.
Well they turned out to be perfect for my "bits" box I am always building of "parts that might work well for a game". They had small sailboats, lighthouses, palm trees, insects, dolphins, crabs, turtles, all kinds of things in assortments. Here is one bag of the nautical assortment:

the nautical assortment came with 8 ships (2 different styles) 8 lighthouse (2 different styles which also would make great player pawns) 5 anchors and 4 suns. They are the perfect size! and with a base coat of flat black or white plastic spray primer and a little hand painting would make good prototype or one-off components.
here is a shot of some of the other parts:

Don't know if this will help anyone but figured it couldn't hurt.
btw, the packaging says it's distributed by Greenbrier International Inc. in Chesapeake, VA.
NICE I have been looking for plastic ships! we have dollar trees in Oregon too so they must be lots of places Btw what ile did you find them in?
