Where do you prefer to have the green banner - left or right? Game is playable online and irl with paper. (Also, co-designers still wanted ; )

Left

I vote left because they're further from the portrait in both those examples. Also, if they were in a cascading stack with only the left part of the card showing, then the top card would be on the right of the stack (bottom card on the left) which may make it easier for the typical right handed player to rifle through.

There where players look the most

Top left, and down left.
I see some icons in the bottom right corner. Maybe they need to be relocated as well. Not sure.

Top left

I like top left. I tend to fan cards ascending from left to right, which cause the top left corner to be visible. This is normally where the most important information goes, as it is inherented from playing cards that have the rank and suit there. Both top left and top right would also be acceptable.

The common way is

For gameplay, I would say it's a matter of how important the banner is. The pips on playing cards are always in the top left in order to fan the cards and see all of them. Even if there's no need to hold your cards during the game, will players feel the need for this if they're looking at cards later? And is that a Catgirl holding a bunny? Awesome!

I agree with all of you too... but

The Top Left Hand position should be reserved for the most important or significant information on the card such that when you fan the cards in a hand, you have access to that information.

The second reason for the Top Left Hand position is because English is read from Left to Right. So again, the order of precedence should be Top Left followed by Top Right and then move down the card to the Text which again is read from Left to Right.

The least favorable position is the Bottom Right corner. This is usually reserved for information that is required when the card is played into the area of play. Or to have card sequencing or art information and the likes.

Granted with all of this as being sort of STANDARD, Magic: the Gathering doesn't obey any of these rules and favors the OPPOSITE side for important COST information making the NAME of the card the most important piece of information.

So as with any advice, please take everyone's suggestion as personal preference or the way that they prefer card layouts to be oriented. It's an ART form not a SCIENCE... That's the best as I can explain it.

But the cards do look cool. Is that original art or just placeholder art ATM???

Original, not placeholders, but the card text/values are mockups, also I forgot to place one container more in the banner for the image in here. :P

1) Card templates are created by Ameilee Sullivan, the ones you see here and also for other the other factions.

2) Artwork of girl & bunny / dward are created by AI, from prompt by me. We have plenty of original artwork done by artists, and are exploring the AI-stuff.

You could achieve it with any

You could achieve it with any one of them most likely. I prefer Midjourney & Stable Diffusion. These here are with Stable Diffusion.

It all depends on your budget and what styles you go after and what workflow you have. Dalle2 might for example be better for some other stuff.

http://wtactics.org/aigallery/ is where I'm collecting it for our cardgame projects. You're all welcome to join in there should you feel like it.

Its all CCBYSA4 / GPL2
