Comeback Mechanic I'm sure has been done

Hello! I'm making a game where the person in last controls the enemies (not fellow players, to be clear.) You do this with a D4 and then proceed to move or orient them based off your roll. I posted this on BGG and got a less than stellar response, but I was curious: have you heard of this before? Is something similar in a game you've played or seen played? This is the potential "hook" of the game in a sense, so every bit helps.

Thank you for your time.

Are you saying all that you get as far as control is the right to "roll the dice"? And then do whatever comes next based on that roll?? This hardly constitutes a form of "control". It's just a "luck" roll. You need to have more than just a dice roll. There needs to be some decision-making if this is to be a "catch-up" mechanic. And oddly enough why a d4??? You would think that a d6 would be a more standard dice and maybe even introduce an "effect" like "STAR: do whatever you want...!"

Personally I think you just explained the mechanics too briefly.

Maybe if you add some more details as to what this d4 symbolizes and how that alters the outcome of "whatever" happens next?!?!

Cheers!

Welcome to bgdf! The concept

Welcome to bgdf!

The concept of giving complete control of the "shared" army is well known to me and my fellow players.

It was one of our attempts on giving the weakest player an edge in our FFA games.

But it also can be abused. The weakest player can remain the weakest on purpose. So you need to be carefull with this. It depends on the game. So you might still be able to use it.
