I designed and manufactured some years ago a very nice collection of balls (Rodos) with animal engravings for a game named Rodobolos, the game is now sold out and out of the market, but there is still a stock of balls that can be used in a board game or sold in "gum/premium machines", to see the designs check out this link:

They are just $0.2 USD each, there are 20 different designs and the stock is 100K (5K/model).
The balls are 20 mm in diameter, have US and CE standard tests, and come individually in a PP transparent bag with a warning notice that the toy is not suitable for children under 3 Years. (Due to small parts/size).
This is a great deal, anyone interested?
