Mechanical Beast is a tile laying puzzle, that can be played solo, co-op, or competitively with up to 4 players. I haven’t tested it with more, but you’re welcome to try it!
Navigate the belly of the mechanical beast, by exploring new rooms, one at a time, or by actioning the different gears to rearrange the layout of the cards already in play.
Your first goal is to find and activate the control room’s OFF button, to then try to escape from the beast, while it’s collapsing around you, before it shuts off, and avoiding getting trapped forever within its bowels.
To aid in your quest, you can ask for help from other players, or send your reliable robot to tinker with the gears and get you out.

You can download the PnP and rules of the game here:

(after the survey, you'll get the link to a Google drive folder)

To see if you're interested, a designer friend was kind enough to film a playthrough:

It seems like players can,

It seems like players can, and should, explore extensively before they activate any gears.

So it seems like there's a long period of exploring which is, in effect, just setting up the board.

So maybe there should be more choices and dangers in this stage of the game.

PS Do you know how to program? This seems like the kind of thing that would make a good puzzle app.

PPS It just occurred to me that the exploring phase might have decisions, because you might be using the gears to set up an easy exit. If so, it would be good to have the video show that.

Thanks for your

Thanks for your feedback!
Indeed, you want to explore in a way that you can have an easy exit. I'm happy that you were able to see that layer of strategy.
The video was the second play of a blind playtesting (unseeded), and it's mostly to show gameplay, but not a lot of strategy. When the game is at a later state, I'll shoot one that shows how all the gears work, how you can use them for your advantage, and also how you can use collapsing to your advantage.
However, this being a puzzle game, I don't want to spell out the strategies, so it'll also probably be just a little sample. :)
As for an app, it definitely has crossed my mind, and it might be a thing to pursue. :D
Thanks again,
Ben.
