Me and my friend have developed a computer game, that is 1-to-1 portable as a board game. We were mostly inspired by the table top Warhammer Fantasy, but also from the computer games Warcraft 3 and Heroes of Might and Magic. I was a huge Warhammer fan myself for more than 10 years. However, we always wanted a board-game less based on luck. The result is now a turn-based game with squares, as in Chess.
For this game we’re looking for a limited amount of alpha users, now. For those who aren’t sure what that is: alpha users are the first testers of a prototype. The prototype contains some computer errors (bugs), the different races are not perfectly balanced yet, the game is still using placeholder graphics, etc. So, why on earth should someone start playing this game? There are plenty of elaborated games out there. Well, there are some advantages for an alpha user.
1.Watching how a game evolves from the very beginning is a unique experience. Plus, when the game is launched you have already gained a knowledge advantage.
2.Participation of the game development: the game is still very shapeable and alpha users decide the new rules, design or which regiments are missing. You can even help in coding, design artwork or write the whole story behind the game. Spreading and fostering the community are other common tasks for alpha users.
If you are interested, have a look at the video tutorials and download the rulebook at www.epic-conflict.com. As mentioned, the game still uses placeholder graphics, so don’t expect too much. There will be a 3D Version in a later stage. If you definitely like to join, write me a PM with (1) your designated user name and (2) your email address. I think a lot of board-game fans are going to like the game. If everything goes well, we will start-up a company that focuses on turn-based strategy games that are portable to physical board games. Don’t forget the spots are limited. The alpha version is launching in a couple of days.

Oh, btw:
Today, we launched the very first alpha version. From now on, everybody can register, no email is necessary anymore. All you have to do is go to www.epic-conflict.com , click on Game and press the register-button. As we are still few people we declared some peak time (Central European Time): 11-13 a.m. and 9-11. A good idea might be to register with a couple of friend so there’s always someone you can play with. If not, you can always ask me to play against you if you are not online.
