From the pictures...

From the pictures and descriptions, it almost looks like a very early version of Agricola. ;)

I was fascinated by the other board game they found, which looked like an ancient copy of Sorry or Trouble, or one of those common roll and move games. :P

Not sure I'll end up with

Not sure I'll end up with something. Fairly tricky set of components. I spent a ton of time trying to make The Glass Bead Game after reading the book twenty years ago.

In looking at the pieces, the two black disks look like bases that might have been glued to the white balls. Fun at least for the possible thoughtwork for it, but tempting to go off the deepene on research as I've not gone real deep into games prior to the middle ages.

Entries due end of day Sunday!

Just a quick reminder that all entries for the September GDS are due by Sunday night at 11:59 pm!

Keep in mind that you the rule on using the ancient game pieces does not mean you must use the exact number of pieces - just the kinds. For example, you can use animal shaped tokens as listed, along with the dice and base your game around the number 4 and it will still be fine entry.

The real judge of how well you meet the requirements will be the voters.
