Hello! I've been working on getting a website going for my upcoming game. Just something simple to get a following started, and allow people to weigh in what they want in the game before it's eventual creation.
Most of the important information is in the forums, providing info on game play mechanics, artwork I've finished, and (soon-ish!) a section for reviewers and members to post questions and play testing requests.
The biggest goal I want to accomplish with this is having youtube videos posted of reviewers that test the game (I'm hoping by next month I'll have a handful of prototypes done, and by march or april a series of videos up and ready).
As of right now the website is not public, meaning I haven't posted it anywhere on social media (just here!) I'd like to know if there's anything I should change or add to give a more user friendly appeal, or dead weight that should be removed. Thank you!
Also, the site is FAR from complete, but a good chunk is done with getting the long forum posts finished. I'm using the Enjin site provider as well. (It's mostly geared towards online games and Minecraft, but it's a very familiar platform that I've used for years!)
I can definitely agree it's very heavy right at the beginning, for the most part I wanted to get a lot of general information out of the way first.
The calendar is more so for my use, when I get a listing of conventions and local game places I'll be attending for demos, but I'll definitely make that a separate page, that'll clean up some of this mess lol.
I removed the necessity to log in to view the forums, I figured that'd be a draw to get registered members, but that's not really a needed thing, just getting page views is awesome.
I'll get to work on simplifying everything, thanks again!
