Songs of Conquest is available to purchase at 60% off the regular price until the 5 November 2024 (I believe). Plus there is an extra Halloween Discount for the game which allows you to get the game at a fraction of the regular price.

Why would you buy it???

Well if you enjoy playing Heroes of Might and Magic III, this game is very comparable and you can countlessly play every now and then with the campaign mode that allows you to learn the adventure and the story behind the game.

One thing I will say ... Is Hero Development is per Level and so I maxed out my troop contingent to win the game more easily. In the final battle, I had a TON of troops (in Level 1) and easily defeated the opponent.

But I chose to upgrade my Hero to support more Units ... And it worked out pretty good as an overall strategy.

I haven't played a Video Game in over 1-Year. Before I had played Magic Arena and Pokemon Online just to learn how to PLAY those games. I enjoyed the pleasure both offered and I learnt a bit more about those two (2) games in question.

For 60% off... I would recommend everyone spending $12 USD to get the game and have countless hours playing a game like Songs of Conquest given this AMAZING offer. Plus like I said there is an ADDITONAL discount for Halloween...

Get it NOW before the offer expires... It's an AMAZING DEAL!

Here is the GOG link for the game:

Cheers.

Also regarding GOG ...

You can DOWNLOAD the OFFLINE installation of the game and not do the ONLINE install... This avoids the need to install the game management software much like STEAM for GOG (I believe it's called Galaxy).

The OFFLINE installation requires you to download the LASTEST .EXE and .BIN for the game and that's all you pretty much need.

Again get it NOW before it's too late...

Sincerely.

Also don't buy it if you don't have time to waste...

I spent like 3-Hours playing 2 Missions and there are supposedly 4 Missions per Faction. There are 4 Factions so this means 16 Missions in total. Not as bad as I had presumed because I had the impression from the Map that there would be more of the Missions for the Solo Campaign.

I don't know if the stories intertwine or not... They could be 4 Factions and therefore 4 separate stories. Never the less I am unsure if they connect or not.

They recommend the 1st Faction as a way of introducing the various elements in the game (units, buildings, etc.) You need some time to understand what all the SPELLS are that are available to cast and so forth. And you earn spell abilities each and every turn you battle with a unit.

The spells are "okay"... Much like in HOMM3 you can mostly affect one unit and then there are a few spells that affect ALL your units (like 1 or 2) to like fortify your troops.

Right now I believe that the game is FUN a bit HARD-ish on the "Fair" Level. But I'm not trying to win the game on the hardest level by all means. It just takes some time to build up all your troops. And resources can sometimes be hard to get (you run out of one and have a ton of the other, etc.)

But it's a "nice" game... If you want to kill a couple of hours here-and-there. I won't be playing much this week because I don't want to waste all my time on a Video Game even if it is very cool.

I'll play it here-and-there when I'm bored nothing to do (which is rare but still possible...) TBD. The game seems nice and worthwhile to play. I mean it's ONLY 16 missions in all. Multiplayer might be something for some gamers. Not me personally but there are other maps and you can play with friends...

In any event for $12 USD... I'm not complaining.

Have a look and see if this is something worthwhile for YOU!

Best.

Also for you to consider

As a gamer whose played games like Warcraft 1, 2 and 3, Starcraft 1, Red Alert C&C, Dune, HOMM3, etc. I am finding Songs of Conquest (SoC) to be rather DIFFICULT even on the "Fair" Game Mode. That's the DEFAULT mode of play and it's only one step higher than "Easy". There are two (2) additional HARDER modes which makes me wonder... Who plays the game at anything other than "Fair" and if you did play on "Fair" is it hard such that you need to SAVE/LOAD the game to figure out where the enemy is going to come from???

Here's my Question on the SoC Reddit... So far 4 Up Votes... Hehehe. I guess the game is rather HARD even on the "Fair" Mode...

Cheers all!

Usually there is a sort of GRIND...

Meaning that you have to build up your forces and explore the map and usually when you find the ENEMY location on the map, that becomes the HARDER part of the level/mission. Usually it requires you to defeat the defending forces like Towers and Guardpost, etc. And then come in with a larger army to defeat the opposing Base/Town.

In SoC it's a bit different. Let me explain...

While you might have an advanced Hero, you can get to areas of the board which are SUPPOSED to be occupied by the ENEMY.

What do I mean???

Well in Mission #3 just North of your FIRST (1st) Town there is ANOTHER Town. But to access it, you need a pretty powerful army (because the way is blocked). I find that by beating the enemy once the opposing Wielder has taken control, you can get back into the Town and the ENEMY Wielder will come back and attack the Town giving you the chance to setup on HIGHER GROUND your Archers and Knights.

But that's the 3rd Wielder and there are FOUR (4) of them to beat.

Bottom line that even on "Fair" Game Mode, you need to SAVE/LOAD to ensure you have enough forces to defend the Town that is to be attacked NEXT.

And of course the TRICK of using the Higher Ground helps a LOT too. Giving your Archers full range over the enemy...

Anyhow just wanted to share that bit of information... The game is very different from HOMM3 ... But somewhat similar too. I gave up with HOMM3 because one level had OPPOSING HEROES so strong, I could not venture into their territory unless I was willing to sacrifice one or more of my Heroes.

RTS games are usually more "forgiving" and allow you to do WAVES of attacks making the game LONGER to beat a LEVEL/MISSION but also not requiring so much SAVING/LOADING such that you understand how to BEAT the MISSION.

Just some more FYI... Cheers.

Well the 60% OFF deal is done and over...

For those who got their copies at 60% the original price point, congratulations! And for everyone else... Well you guys "suck"! Hehehe. Just a bit of humor, I'm kidding of course... If the game is NOT for you... I understand. But I got the Supporter's Edition for $30 CAD and now the price point for that version is like $60+ CAD now...

So I figure that I got 60% but paid a bit more for the Supporter's Edition and my total discount was like 50% off...

Again for some of you who took the deal... CONGRATS ... Hope you enjoy the game!

Cheers all.

Note #1: I also believe that the Halloween Sale is over now too... And the 15% discount for taxes is no longer available... So for the $30 CAD I spent... I'm getting like a $75 CAD game... Was a smart purchase and I may play some more in the future... TBD...
