A "G" is somewhat unexpected.
I'd go with "J", since people will expect to see that for a Journal entry. The fact that it's about games is obvious, so there's no need to highlight it with a "G".

But is it possible to make the lower hook just a bit longer? As it is, it sort of looks like another "I".
Yeah, I'm quibbling, but there's nothing wrong with asking.
Really, it's a handsome J as it is. This would just make it more of what we like to see in the letter J.

It was the "J" from the font, the same font used in the logo. Man oh man!
And yet, if you refresh you'll find a more hooked "J". :P
