A boardgame inspired by the upcoming video game Scrapland. I wrote out a small back-of-the-box narrative, if this would ever get published. This is also my 1st take on the city-building genre.
Set inside a debris field thousands of miles wide is the tiny asteroid called Scrapland. Centuries of destructive exploitation by a race long gone, reduced what was once a paradise into a world inhabited only by machines. You, a robot yourself, have been hired to rebuild this once awe-inspiring metropolis of glittering greatness.
As far as if this will work out or how, I still need to figure out.
Would this sound interesting to anybody at all?

Ok, I just took, all the stuff here and put it into one big idea, with even more ideas added.
Game Board
The board will be a grid that represents a city. It will contain broken buildings, and vacant lots. On vacant lots are random amounts of scrap, scrap indicates how big of a building you can build on the lot. Players will place cards representing buildings such as factories, stores, or houses. Pawns will be used to represent each players unit. Units will move among the Scrap, and on roads.
Police Forces
The Police have 2 types of units Policemen, and the deadly Punishers. Since the Police only catch you when you "slip" whenever they are on the same space as a unit, the unit is captured. Punishers are stronger, and move about secretively. The movement of these powerful robots, is determined when the Police Force, picks a card representing a space on the board. All units moving to the same space are captured.
The Robots
These "good" guys move about the board trying to unmask the conspiracy behind the murders in Scrapland. All clues point to the police force, so they must find out stop the evil police force, by recruiting other robots. When the police force can not mantain (build any more forces) the Robots win.
Combat
Combat takes place between The Robots and the Policemen, or Punishers land on the same space. This combat is like jwarreneds A new combat/fighting system model.
Please let me know what you think.
