Need a word to replace "Event" or "Encounter"

Hi everybody! I'm working on a wrestling-themed game and I want to have an Event Deck to provide spontaneous occurrences in the game...

The problem is that the word "Event" is used often in another context, and "Encounter" doesn't seem appropriate due to the fact that these occurrences are not always the sort of things that typically come to mind when we hear the word "Encounter" in board gaming.

For instance, these events may be advancement opportunities, overall circumstances that change the game state, and sometimes actual encounters with people or situations.

I tried a thesaurus, but nothing seemed to fit... any ideas?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Some Ideas

Try some of these on for size. Preface them with words like "New" and "Shocking," even "Devastating" or whatever to provide some more context:
- Angle
- Twist
- Element
- Bump
- Segment
- [Plot] Point
- Crash
- Item

I grabbed these words from a couple articles that mention how WWE events, segments, and episodes are scripted. Here's a solid one:

Hmmm...

-Clash
-Turn of events (I know it uses events)
-Twist of Fate (nod to Hardys)
-Work
-Shoots
-Kayfabe

Those are all I got for now...good luck on your wrestling game :)

Because it's a wrestling-themed game

How about the word "Challenge"!

This means it could be any type of "obstacle" (Physical or mental) or "brawl" (an actual fight/encounter).

I think this can also mean an "Event" and is better suited to your theme (like YOU want to Challenge ME?! ". That type of silly non-sense! :P

Best of Luck with your game!

Shoot

I'd second for "Shoot"
It's usage in Pro Wrestling means an unplanned event that the performers must work around.

Wrestling Theme - I like the Smack-Down Deck personally. Chris beat me to it.

Thanks so much!

Wow! Fantastic! I didn't think of many of these words for use in this context. I'm positive my deck name is in this thread -- thank you all so much for taking the time to help me out with this!

Best of luck to all!
