my theory
Some non native English speakers are gold farming, but they know that if they post a buy gold here link it will be deleted. So they are trying to establish themselves here with minimum effort. A post here or there. Hunter is no wisdom, or funny point of wow. So they can follow up next month with the gold link.
Alternatively someone is posting some hilarious forum parody here, I approve.
Also the funny point of wow is how everyone has popeye arms.

Is there a game design in this?
Could you/we/one make a game where you're trying to post advertising links to forums that don't want them? The player who posts and keeps the most links wins? Creating contextual posts to "cloak" the link helps the link, but takes a huge number of your action points, so you're likely to spend as few AP on that as possible, resulting in poor quality posts.

I always thought it was that characters have shoulders so large that they shouldn't be able to get through a doorway, but I think the popeye arms is part of the same aesthetic. :)

Good question. I've been wondering the same thing. But I've never played that version of warcraft, so I can't begin to reason why. I wonder the same thing about cell phones. Why would another human being mind be better than ones own or seek entertainment in others. People are not wowed enough by the themself or their own thoughts. The rest of phone conversation are distractions to me. The mysteries inside the box. I like the first warcraft and find each one after that worse than the one before it. All they needed to add was more technology that you could advance to. They didn't need a first person interactive world. For me that spoiled why I like the game.

This is a BOARDGAME DESIGN forum. A place where people interested in the creation of board games (think Monopoly, Clue, Risk, etc.) exchange ideas about their hobby. We have nothing to do with WoW.
Some people, sometimes, spam this site with offers for WoW gold, so many of us thought you were one of those. You seem to be just an honest person who thought this was a forum about computer games. You will probably get better information about Wow at some other place devoted to that game. If you ever get involved with board game design, this will be the right place to visit. But not for Wow, no matter how many times you ask the same question.

Though I am a wower, it's not that easy for me to tell what are the attraction of the game, but if you play it, you may like its animation effects, and the game spirit.
Also, after you play the game,I am sure you will be interested in the funny comics and pictures. This you can find in many website, no matter famous or not.
