New: Inkscape 1.0 Countersheets Extension 3.0 (CSV to cards, counters, etc)

Inkscape Countersheets Extension 3.0 is now available. Make cards, tiles, counters, standees, etc using Inkscape (WYSIWYG) plus spreadsheet data (CSV).

Now with support for Inkscape 1.0 and Python 3, and some other improvements like a way to faster change between different sheet layouts, distance to registration marks, fold line down center of sheet toggle for when printing both sides side-by-side.

TradeWorlds: Smugglers Run (Re-visiting the design)

This expansion idea is all about "Space Pirates". It's going to use custom clay chips (which are a bit less expensive than ceramic ones) ... And I want to have a Push-Your-Luck (PYL) mechanic as part of the expansion.

I had a concept ... But I want something with MORE "depth".

Originally I had a simple formula: 2x Credits + 5 Credits.

This gave rise to values like: 5, 15, 35, 75, 155 and 315.

But quite frankly ... It's too SHORT. While I kind of like the PYL mechanic, it's just NOT the right one for this expansion.

Some *NEW* ideas:

Prototyping

HI,

for prototyping I use some normal tools and some extra stuff, here is a short list:

- cricut maker
- dahle A3 cutting machine
- canon pixma printer (cheap and new)

for material I have bought a lot of small stuff from ebay or aliexpress:

- 6 sided dice 12mm in several colors
- 6 sided blanc dice 12m in several colors
- sets of dice with 4 up to 8 sides
- sticker
- wooden cubes 10mm in several colors

EDIT (30.01.2021)
- also bought a 1000 chip poker case (secound hand) and still not used
- pearls in cube shapes (other shape) are quite cheap

First Blog Entry - actual status of game designs/prototyping

HI,

this is my new blog about my game ideas and the actual status of these ideas.

In the last years I have made a view prototypes, which are not complete:

- a Bomberman like game (2018)
- a big game with 3 different races any player could control, base building and allot going on (2016)

complete and playtested prototype:

- a arena combat game, using painting for movement and action programming, project: "Mage Wars Arena" (2017, still in progress)

actual working on:
- a game using double sided memory cards, for building magic trinkets (2019)

Crystal Heroes — Re-designed the Rulebook with a BETTER font

I've been struggling with a few of things lately when it comes down to "Crystal Heroes" (CH). One of them was the SIZE of the rulebook. I chose "The Game Crafter" Medium Booklet which is in all fairness a pretty SMALL format for a rulebook. I found the text to be TOO SMALL and overall hard to read.

So I had two (2) choices: either I make a LARGER booklet which would mean re-editing the entire rulebook (all 16 pages) OR I change the FONT which was in essence the reason the TEXT was too HARD to read.

I decided on OPTION #2 (Changing of the font).

SpellMasters — Re-think

While I was under the impression that this design was at 80%... I may need to re-think that a bit. I was planning to write a "book" to complete the amount of "Monsters" available to play against. However I realized that this might be GREAT for the "Players", it's not really great for me! Hmm...

What can I possibly mean? Well I was leaning towards a D&D component like a "Monster Compendium" with over 200+ Monsters to battle. But I realized two (2) things:

1. The Book may be too much for first time players.

Sold out!

Just wanted to put somewhere that I just sold out of my Darkness & Light expansion, which is exciting and also a little sad. And also maybe saying I could've put up a smaller holiday discount than I did :) There are still a dozen or so copies available at the distributor I'm using, but that's it.

The print run was only 768 units because I really didn't think I could sell 1000, but that was before COVID drove everyone into their houses with their kids..

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you have all had a Fruitful year. God Bless
